I mean, they sit in your garden by the pond but what is their true meaning?
What is the point of garden gnomes?
I think they are mean to scare off naughty fairies and pixies in the old days.But now they give charaters to the garden(depending the look of course)like how "How pretty the girl is with that garden gnome!"
Reply:They talk to the flowers and the fish, keeping both happy. They also scare away the evil leprechauns trying to hurt them.

Reply:To scare off little children, mailmen, dogs, ex-husbands and/or wives, pesky neighbors, trick or treaters, relatives-in-law, your children, and racoons. Unfortunatley it will attract Garden Gnome Hit Squads.

The Roaming Gnome on TV does everybody a great service, by telling travelers where the best hotels and other places are, for spending a night while on a trip!
Although, he seems a bit clumsy--always getting rolled by a bellmans cart, or run down by a taxi-cab!
