SRW Retaining Wall %26amp; Paver Adhesive. This product is carried by most landscape supply centers. Liquid nails and silicone are great but not made to stand up to the elements as well as this adhesive. Especially if you want to build a wall that children can't take apart. This product has been designed for stone work. Good luck and I hope your wall doesn't tumble down, lol.
Reply:there is a Liquid Nails product that is made for doing this.. check with your local hardware or a Lowe's or Home Depot store.
Reply:I would use mortar. There are different varieties of mortar/cement mixtures that would hold your blocks together, but would not bond so tight that it would be permanent. Also a light coat between the blocks can be easily hidden from view and still hold the blocks in place.
Reply:Get some Clay. Clay will harden enough to stop them from picking them up, but wont glue them down. Better yet, Make some clay-do your self, because buying it could get expensive. Here's the formula-2 cups of Flour 1 cup of Salt- 1 Tablespoon of Cream of Tarter -1 Tablespoon Veg. Oil- 2 Cups Water.Mix It all together and heat on the stove over med. heat. For about five minutes. Until it looks like clay. Than add food colour if you want to. Keep it in plastic wraps until you use it because it will harden. Use that to keep the kids from moving your blocks! Bye
Reply:I'm not sure there would be a way without some type of adhesive. Not sure why you don't want to mortar them...

What about Silicone Caulk? Yes it is an adhesive, but can be deliberately removed by you if you later wanted to change or remove them. It might offer enough resistance to the casual delinquent that they would assume they were firmly mortared?
Reply:Are you talking about the concrete blocks with the holes in them?

We just built a small wall as part of the new landscaping in our back yard. We fill the holes with sand to keep the wall in place and then put a patio block on top to cover the holes.

Hope this helps!
Reply:spray them with something awful sticky that wont stain or leave a mark. They will touch one, get their hands icky and never touch them again
