My garden trailer's wheels are locked up due to rust on the axle. What is the best way to fix this?

I have used steel wook and oil, but they still do not seem to turn freely. This is a Craftsmen garden trailer.

buy a new one
Reply:you might have to change the bearings
Reply:yep, soaking them in a penetrating oil will help. Kerosene also. I'd ask Sears...they have a great service site online. The issue may be helped, but the rust has likely degenerated matal to metal parts, and in the process, they will never again perform as smoothly as new

Reply:fairy liquid?
Reply:Try pouring some coke as in the soda, try pouring some of that on it. I know that it works for other things, and you might want to see if that does it. Coke works in stripping the rust off of it. GOOD LUCK!!!
Reply:pb blaster, it the best. trust me
Reply:try a good soaking of wd-40.
Reply:remove tham and soak them in penetrating oil mixed with motor oil overnight them tap with a hammer and rinse with gas then water
