How to keep pidgeons out of your garden?

Hi there. Our neighbour have racing pidgeons, and we would like to know how to keep them off our apple tree and out of our garden, also off the roof. Many thanks

Hang old Cd's around the area. The shine and texture of the CD surface messes with their eyes and they don't like it so they won't stay in the area.
Reply:shot gun and tasty pie for afters's. is the easy option but your neighbour will never speak to you again. on the roof put spikes up and owl and maybe a super powerful water pistol or bb pistol ? but think the main solution is to keep a Harris hawk ( bird of prey ) at bottom of garden . you and your neighbour will never see the birds again.end of story

Birds are afraid of hawks so why not make an artificial hawk (just the outline needed ) in wood or something and place it somewhere high in your garden. The shadow of the hawk is enough to scare birds away.
Reply:Cut down tree. Set fire to tree. Place tree on roof.
Reply:well my neighbor did this but he moved, the best method was sitting out there with my air riffle and make it known i was using it, and when he had them out, shoot at the sky, not to actually hit them just so he thought i was trying to do that, so if i had the weapon while he was there he wouldn't let them out, they are annoying i know,

although if you use shiny things like bits of plastic mirror they don't like it so they move away fast, and if you can get them wet, or make lots of noise
Reply:well for one you can get a scarecrow to scare them of or you can get sprinkler's to wet them and keep them out.
Reply:We have the same problem, but the bird for us is chickens.My mom keeps on saying that she will shoot them.But get a gun and shoot them.Hope the advice works!
Reply:Buy a fake owl. We had birds always coming and taking my dogs food.



We put an owl right above it, and they dont come by anymore

Reply:you need to make scare pidgeon. You make them out of straw and put clothes on them so they look like a man. Stick it on a stick and then stick the stick in the ground. You can use a carrot for his nose and some black paint for eyes and red paint for a mouth. It will look more real if you can get an old pair of shoes to put on it's feet. Pardon, sorry, what did you say, that's a scare crow!!! Oh well I'm sure it will work just as well for pidgeons. If that does not do the trick, a shot gun blast up the a..e will always do the trick.
