How to clean the small rocks and stone from the top soil of the garden?

I have already rotaty hoed the garden. there are lots of small rocks and stone and now I want to remove all. Any better ideas then picking.

How to clean the small rocks and stone from the top soil of the garden?
GO TO THE BUILDING SUPPLY , BUY A PIECE OF HARD WARE CLOTH (RABBIT PEN WIRE) 3' X 3'-- WITH 1\2 INCH HOLES OR LARGER ,MAKE A FRAME OUT OF 2X4 S FOR THE WIRE TO LAY ON---ATTACH 4- 2X2 LEGS BOUT 2' LONG --ONE AT EACH CORNOR, SHOVEL THE DIRT ONTO THE WIRE, THE DIRT WILL FALL THRU AND THE ROCK WILL STAY ON THE WIRE, YOU CAN REMOVE THE ROCKS AFTER A FEW SHOVEL FULLS
Reply:If the rocks are one inch (1") or smaller leave them. (unless of course it was a drive way at one time) They help provide drainage and they will sink into the soil after tilling. Remember they are heavier than the dirt. They also help to retain the heat from the sun. They won't hold so much as to burn up the plants in the summer. The only way I know of for you to avoid picking them up yourself is to call the neighborhood kids in and tell them it is a prettiest rock found and picked up contest LoL!
Reply:rake it with a garden rake...anything small enough to slip through the tines wont hurt anything...
Reply:rocks absorb heat from the sun during the day and keeps the soil warm at night which helps the plants.if you want to get rid of the rocks you could sift the soil.
