Serious responses only please. I recently planted some mums in my garden and already the squirrels have torn them to shreds! How can I repell them safely? I don't want to hurt or kill them, just keep them out of the garden. Any ideas?
How do I keep squirrels out of the garden??
I've heard they do not like red pepper
Reply:I use an electric fencer. See photo http://www.pecanworld.com/SQUIRREL.htm
Reply:make a small fence around your garden, or you could pour alot of nuts on the ground to divert their attention from your other plants, fill em up on nuts.
Reply:good luck. Nothing keeps the little buggers out.
Reply:Toss some moth balls around your garden. It won't hurt the flowers and the squirrels won't want to go near anything that smells so bad. The smell will repel them and they'll leave your mums alone. Wear gloves when you handle the moth balls as they're poisonous. Replace the moth balls as necessary--they "melt" in the rain or as you water.
Reply:I heard that fox urine repels them, but I don't know where you would get fox urine.
Reply:Try sprinkling blood meal on the soil around the plants. I know it works for bulbs.
Reply:This is a serious response.
If the things you have already done, have not taken care of your problem, than yes, you need to exterminate them.....Since you don't seem to have the heart for it, have someone else do it.
It depends on how much you value your property.
Reply:take a nate zaper

Reply:Shoot them.
