How can I rid my garden and pond of ducks please, they are driving me and my family crazy!!!!?
It is illegal in many areas to disrupt waterfowl nesting. You better check with the DNR before you shoot anything or tear up their nests.

I would love to have your "problem". We have had some geese nest, but never ducks. They are beautiful to watch.
Reply:Dig out the pond and make it bigger so there is room for the ducks. Plant large plants around part of the perimeter (like catails, etc). They will filter your pond and keep the water cleaner and fresher as well as minimizing how much the ducks "stir things up." If you are trying to grow some small plants the ducks are trampling or eating try putting some chicken wire around them temporarily till they get bigger. Etc, Etc Etc The main point ----we can learn to live WITH nature instead of fighting it --- I wish I had ducks and a pond in my back yard!!
Reply:if you pound stakes in the ground ,or use existing trees ,and run fishing line from one to the others in a square like pattern ,it is not only invisible to the naked eye ,but NO birds will fly OVER NOR UNDER the lines . works great for pool decks also.
Reply:ahhh...well i don't know...but i think you are SO lucky...they don't eat fish they are vegetarian...so your pond will be fine...why don't you let them stay...beautiful birds!!
Reply:If netting is too unsightly or impractical (pond too big), try an acoustic scarer. You can get them with distress calls or explosions.
Reply:Befriend them.. you may even grow to enjoy their company. =)

Or if they really are causing a big 'problem', then the removal of your pond, or change of atmosphere in your garden may be necessary. =/
Reply:People would give money to have your problem, wait until you see the babies and then you might feel diferent.

I look forward each year to my ducks coming back
Reply:There are a number of excellent recipes for duck also duck eggs are a special treat!!
Reply:You can buy a net to cover the pond or sorry to say it you will have to fill the pond in.Good Luck
Reply:Contact the RSPB for some advice. Would it be possible for you to cover the pond with netting to deter them for a while?
Reply:Several smallish alligators should do it.
Reply:An electric fence where the geese and ducks are bothering the garden/pond might be the best thing
Reply:drain the pond....
Reply:ask the RSPCA to relocate them
Reply:get a life, TROLL

ducks are sweet
Reply:Buy a cat...
Reply:SOunds like you need a large dog, even a puppy will chase them
Reply:You should be able to buy a net to go over it and stop them getting in if not get a DOG!!!! a really vicious 1
Reply:There is a product sold by GROWERS SUPPLY 1-800-476-9715 www2.GrowersSupply.com called goose repellent that is made just to get geese, ducks and turkeys to move to other places. it lists at $39.99 for 1 qt of ready to use good for 4000 sq.ft or $119.99 for 1 gal. of concentrate good for 16000 sq. ft. the ready to use is in a hose end spray bottle. for those that told you to shoot them they should be reminded that it is against federal law and the fine for doing it will buy you a lot of spray
Reply:Find their nests, get rid of them, see if they move, if they don't you'll have to shoot them, a usual airgun should work alright.
Reply:Buy an airgun, and camoflauge, wait patiently and blast them away
Reply:Get out your air rifle.
Reply:Shoot them. : D
