How to complain about a neighbour's garden?

A neighbour in our street does not cut their grass, leave their kids toys all over the garden and have piles of junk at the side of their house (old wood, bread crates, old bikes, cookers, etc). They are not very approachable - and are not friendly with anyone else in the street. They are not in a council house. We are trying to sell our house and I know this is putting people off. How do I go about getting them to tidy their garden?

It does not matter whether they live in a council house or not, it is up to your local council to approach them. They can instruct them to remove the rubbish. It's not easy, been there :-(
Reply:I know in some communities in the area in which I live, a mess like that is not allowed. We complain to the town or someone such as the code enforcement officer. I had a similar problem when I owned my house a few years back with the neighbor's dog running in my Yard, trash blowing from their place, junk piled up, people from their home playing in my yard also. I stuck a fence up so I wouldn't put up with that mess anymore. If you can't do that, see if theres someone from the town in which you live in that can go over there and approach them. I don't know what country you live in so I don't know what services are available to the citizens.
Reply:Mind your own business m8, it's HIS yard, not yours.
